Special Collections

The Department of Archives and Special Collections has three staff members available to assist you with your research. Liz Hilkin, Head of Archives and Special Collections, earned a JD from Mercer University School of Law and an MSIS from the University of Texas at Austin. Evelina Stulgaityte, Assistant Archivist, earned a BA from the University of Virginia and an MLIS from McGill University. Kate Roden, Archives Assistant, earned a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MLS from Texas Woman's University.

The Department is located on the fourth floor of the Tarlton Law Library in room 4.209. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. For driving directions and parking at the Law Library please see Location and Parking.

Using the Collections

The collections are non-circulating and must be used in the fourth floor reading room. Archival collections are generally avaliable for use, providing that the guidelines for the fourth floor reading room are followed. While an appointment is not required, it is recommended. If you are coming from outside Austin, we especially urge you to contact us in advance, so that we can help you make the most of your research visit.
